How do I setup my sponsorship page?
What is the best size image to use and what format( .jpg, .png, .svg)?
Overview - What Is Sponsorship
Sponsorship helps keep the learning center going. It allows people who agree to our mission to show their support by being a sponsor. That support is demonstrated in our sponsorship marque that appears on the bottom of the Learning Center home page. These are clickable links where a person can learn more about an individual sponsor.
What Information is Needed
As a sponsor, you will provide the following four items:
- Name: The name you want to appear with your logo. It can be your organization name or the name of a specific program within your organization.
- Logo: You can provide a single logo to display within the rolling sponsorship marque.
- Description: You can provide a description of your organization. This is limited to 2500 characters which comes out to around 500 words. Limited html formatting is allowed in the description, but no images or links.
- Link: A link to your organization's home page or a special page within the organization will be provided.
- Button Name: The link will appear at the end of the description as a button. The button title is limited to 20 characters.
Can you Better Explain the "Button Name?"
If your organization name is 20 characters or less, your organization name can be your button name. But if you have a long organization name, you can provide a shortened version of less than 20 characters. If you do not provide a "Button Name", we will use the phrase "Visit this Sponsor."
Are the content guidelines?
All entries are subject to approval, but as long as it fits into our purpose and vision, you should be fine. If there is an issue, we will work it out directly with you. The
How does the logo work?
For the sponsorship, we only allow .jpg or .png images. A transparent image (.png) is best and allows the most flexibility. The difference is explained in this article.
Regarding the size, the height is the main factor that the image should be sized on. Your image should have a height of 360px. The width can be any value up to a maximum of 750px.
File Name
It is very important that your file names NOT CONTAIN SPACES and be LOWER CASE. If you have a file called, "my great picture.jpg" you will need to change it to "mygreatpicture.jpg" or "my_great_picture.jpg". Spaces do not translate well in some browsers so they need to be avoided. Ideally your image name should use your organization name plus the word logo. If your organization name is "Suggestion Tree" your logo name would be: suggestion_tree_logo.png or you could shorten to: suggtree_logo.png.
Marquee Layout
The way we display the logos may change based on the base Website design. But in general, your logo will either appear on a static page or it could be a rolling marquee that moves across the screen. It will be your logo and then your organization name (the first two items in the bullet list above).
Sponsorship Submission
Each individual site handle's sponsorship submissions differently. You be provided instructions by your event management/sponsorship for how to submit the above items. It typically is done by an email reply to the support ticket with the logo attached.
Example
The following is an example of how transparent sponsorship logos are displayed on an image background. The manner in which sponsors appear in the Marquee will vary from site to site.
