When you click on the red edit button (arrow A on image below) to get to the Zoom and Filename edit, one of the key required fields is the "filename". This name is used multiple places and there are some very clear parameters that need to be followed. Failure to do so could cause problems in the video and archiving process.
- You keep only main words.
- You shorten some words
- Use only standard ASCII characters.*
- Translate non-English classes to the English equivalent.*
- You combine the words as a phrase without spaces and use capital letters for new words.
- It only needs to be clear enough to understand what this is about.
- Words like This, How, See, Do, etc are all dropped.
- Plurals and "ing" words are shortened. "ment" can be dropped sometimes.
- A lot of words are shortened.
- You only need enough so that an editor (or admin person) could match it to what the true title is.
- This title is NEVER seen by the general public.
Using these parameters, here are some examples:
How to Learn to Skin a Cat = becomes LearnSkinCat
Case Study on Scripture Engagement for Minors = StudyScriptureEngageMinors
Or using examples from current missing titles:
Audio Recording: Get Started With Voice Recording and Optimizing With a Very Small Budget
- becomes = VoiceRecordingOptimizingSmallBudget
Understanding Our Audiences for Effective Communication - Part 2
- becomes= UnderstandAudienceEffectiveCommunication2
Overview of Cybersecurity and Practical Steps to Make Your Project and Organization More Secure
- becomes = CybersecurityPracticalSteps
*Note about Characters:
Standard English characters are all fine. But when you start entering in the names of classes from other languages, you need to ideally translate them to English or at the least convert all non-standard characters to the English equivalent.
So for example, with the Spanish class Title "Clase De Prueba Miércoles" you would use "ClasePruebaMIiercoles" or the English translation "TestClassWednesday."
